Cleveland Furnace Installation, Botched Job

I just went to a furnace service call for no heat.  I can't believe what I saw.  This installation was completely botched from the sale to the final installation.  I went to a ranch home that was sold a 95%, Single stage furnace.  During this Cleveland Furnace Installation, the installers decided that they would run the condensate line attached to a condensate pump in an unconditioned attic, without any insulation, over 35 feet to a utility sink.  If the condensate pump were only used to handle condensation from an air conditioning system during the spring and summer months, it would not have caused a problem.  However, since they installed a condensing furnace, it also needs to run during the winter.  Needless to say the 3/8 inch hose became frozen and will not allow the furnace to operate.  In this case, the homeowner got a great price on the installation, however, they now are going to have a very costly repair.  Please consider who is going to install your new furnace and that if they don't know what they are doing, it will end up costing you a great deal more.  Remember what Ben Franklin said, "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten."
